Chris O'Falt of IndieWire Magazine wrote a very informative piece on whether or not short filmmakers can make money on films that debut at film festivals. Several of those filmmakers who he interviewed were winners at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. They concurred that although offers are often plentiful, it pays to check on the terms being offered. Visibility, two ot the winning filmmakers said, was better on Vimeo than on lesser known sites that may request a film be removed from such venues.
