Indie Fest USA International Film Festival 2015

This review:
So, I have been trying to get into festivals, forever it seems like and many films later and over a decade later I get in this one. The people were all nice, great logo, great town, but the areas where the parties are, and the venues for the screenings feel like an invalidation. I did meet some good people and this festival has so much potential. I also think that the venue locations and party atmosphere scares off producers and industry professionals that could change your career. I had a great time, met some good filmmmakers but being an actor and filmmaker and see what this festival could do.

Great Logo + Filmmakers - Not Much Audience or Venue Appeal

This festival has a great logo. It's held in Garden Grove, which sits in the shadows of Orange County. It's most famous landmark is Crystal Cathedral. Because so few people came to the festival, you got to meet all the filmmakers and grab a burrito at The Elvis Presley Mexican Restaurant. It is not really clear to me why they have this festival, but you had three choices - Watch a film on an overlit indoor screen, watch the scene outdoors - screen-right - or view the well-lit tattoo parlor art. A fourth option was outdoor screenings for feature-length films doing battle with a rock n' roll concert. All-in-all, met some great filmmakers, so I suppose it was worth the trip.
