JDIFF is worth the investment

Had the pleasure of visiting the 2016 Julien Dubuque International Film Festival and was impressed with everything they brought to the table. While Dubuque may not feel like a big festival destination, they deliver with the same quality as some of the big boys.

Accepted, but Poor Treatment

In full disclosure, I haven't yet attended this festival, but that's because I've already had a disappointing experience and haven't even stepped on the plane yet.

It's not TIFF, but it could just as easily be great.

Having lived in Montreal for 17 years, I never understood why MWFF wasn't big like TIFF. Montreal is an awesome city with more international flair than Toronto. To be sure.

2016 Zurich Film Festival - top notch experience

Just returned from a five-day trip to the Zurich Film Festival and couldn't be more impressed by the overall quality of the experience. I was there to cover the festival as a journalist, so while I didn't have a film to screen, I can address the everything else.

William Shatner and I

I didn't really get to meet William Shatner on the red carpet at the New York City International Film Festival, but our films were both shown here, and coincidentally, a couple of weeks later at the Phoenix Comicon. Didn't get to meet him there either.

Philly Film Fest

One of the first of many festivals to give our film a big award, even though we were unable to attend. Both venues were in spectacular locations - the Levitt Theatre at Gershmon Y and the Caplan Performing Arts Center.

Beware of Hoboken

Our film was not shown in the theater as promised but in a tiny shipping container-like room with a makeshift screen, 1 PA speaker, and a glaring light that was still on during the screening.

Fun Eye Opener

This event is different than many other adrenaline-based film tours. The athletes in the films are relatable, the locations are accessible, and the adventures are even more real.
